Dental Service

 Provides skilled general dental care against all the oral disease contained in the primary care level; 
 Diagnoses oro-facial conditions and provides appropriate information to patients;
 Removes tooth tissue and/or places materials for the purpose of either the temporary or permanent restoration or replacement of tooth structure or the rehabilitation of the dentition;
 Performs procedures on the oro-facial complex, teeth, and hard and soft tissues surrounding or supporting the teeth;
 Extracts teeth and manages a dental abscess - with minor surgery;
 Administers local analgesia and/or sedatives for dental procedures;
 Prescribes medications for the treatment of dental problems as per the acquired training;
 Prescribes relevant tests in the course of dental treatment;
 Conducts scaling of teeth;
 Performs cavity filing of teeth with amalgam & composite;
 Delivers oral health education in community, schools, and prisons;
 Takes relevant x-rays, processes & interprets;
 Provides emergency management of common dental problems;
 Takes part in teaching and research.
