Physiotherapy
- Perform a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment/examination to musculoskeletal disorders, sports Injuries, neurological disorders, cardiac and respiratory conditions, pediatric conditions, gynecological and obstetrics conditions and Integumentary disorders incorporating diagnostics data to produce a diagnosis and render appropriate intervention.
- Order diagnostic tests, utilize the data or information to assist in the examination/assessment process of a patient
- Practice of preventive gerontology, geriatric rehabilitation, apply appropriate treatment modalities, and prescribe specific exercises for aged patients
- Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent movement dysfunction in patients.
- Perform physiotherapy manual techniques, utilize physical modalities, plastering techniques and prescribe therapeutic exercises
- Prescribe prosthesis, orthotics and mobility aids as required and instruct patients for optimal use of assistive devices
- Provide basic life support as indicated in emergency cases.
- Confers with the patient, medical practitioners, or appropriate others to plan, implement, or assess the intervention program;
- Reviews physician's referral and patient's medical records to compliment diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment required;
- Discharges patient from physiotherapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals;
- Informs patients when diagnosis reveals findings outside physiotherapy and refer to appropriate practitioners;
- Provides educational information about physiotherapy, injury prevention, ergonomics, or ways to promote health;
- Involves in operational research and intervention to increase quality of physiotherapy service;
- Works in the community on advice and prevention of disability, early detection, rehabilitation and prevention of further disability within development; Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team focusing on patients’ palliative care;
