outpatient services management refers to the processes and procedures needed to ensure the efficient flow of patients between the patient’s first encounter with the reception until the patient exits resulting in reduced waiting times and improve service quality, and client satisfaction.

Bishoftu General Hospital's outpatient department provides the following services:-

Adult medical OPD – There are 4 medical Adult OPDs and one chronic OPD for NCD cases. Each case team provides service for at least 40 patients

Pediatric OPD – There are 2 pediatric OPDs that provide treatment and counseling services for under 14 children

VCT- provides HIV test service for volunteers

ART clinic – This unit provides treatment and counseling for patients living with HIV/AIDS

TB clinic- This clinic provides treatment and counseling services for patients diagnosed to have drug-susceptible TB

MCH – This unit provides Antenatal care follow-up for pregnant mothers, treatment and counseling services for Gynecology cases, and provides Family planning for reproductive-age group mothers

Dental OPD- It provides prevention, treatment, and counseling service for patients with dental cases and maxilla-facial trauma.

Eye OPD- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for patients with eye diseases

Psychiatry OPD- This unit provides prevention, treatment and counseling services for mental health conditions

Physiotherapy department- This unit provides physiotherapy services for patients with disability, Neuropathy, chronic pain, etc

Dermatology OPD- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for clients with STDs and skin and skin-related diseases

Cervical Ca screening unit- This unit provides screening for cervical Ca and precancerous lesions for eligible women.

Private clinic service-This unit provides diagnosing, treatment, and counseling services for clients visiting the hospital during off-working hours

GBV- This unit provides counseling, prevention, psychotherapy, and treatment services for those clients victims of gender-based violence.

Orthopedic Referral clinic – This unit provides Diagnosing, counseling, and treatment services for clients with extremity Bone and bone-related diseases

Laboratory services- Parasitological, Hematology, Gene X-pert, Chemistry, Blood transfusion service, Sputum AFB, Urine analysis, Serology, Electrolyte determination, Hormonal analysis, Coagulation Profile Test, HPV DNA screening, etc

Imaging Diagnostic Service- ultrasound and X-ray services

Pathology Services- This unit provides FNAC, Biopsy, Fluid Cytology, BM aspiration

Pharmacy services- Dispensary, DIS, and Compounding services

Medical referral clinic- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for patients with internal medicine cases and those who need chronic follow up

Surgical referral clinic- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for patients with surgical cases and those who need surgical intervention and/or follow up

Gynecology referral clinic- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for patients with Gynecology/Obstetric cases and those who need surgical intervention and/or follow up

Pediatric referral clinic- This unit provides treatment and counseling services for children with chronic cases and those who need chronic follow up
